Today’s smoothie and post was inspired by another blogger. Yesterday Klara from KLARASLIFE posted this amazingly beautiful Vitamin C smoothie in this bright orange color. Further in general I just really like Klara’s posts. She takes incredible pictures, has great recipes and seems to be a generously nice person. Today, while posting this, is Thanksgiving in the US. In Germany we do not celebrate Thanksgiving but still sometimes it is nice to sit back and to realize that we are thankful about a lot of things.
We tend to look at the things we do not have and crave instead of seeing the bigger picture, the nice things in our lifes. This can be people, things or something we have already achieved. I am trying to practice that more often, it helps, even if times are sometimes not as bright and happy as this Probiotic Orange Smoothie.
I am thankful that I have decided some month ago to start this journey and to do what I was thinking about for so long, launching my own food blog. It is nice to do something creative and to create your own destiny. I love my day job where I am also working in the digital world but with my blog is my baby that hopefully grows. I can highly recommend to find something that makes you happy, a passion. Best if you do create something on your own, something to be proud of. This can be paiting, gardening, building small toy planes or what so ever.
Hopefully the Probiotic Orange Smoothie helps so you feel good and have the energy to work on those passions you have. I used my own homemade kefir in this recipe but you could also use regular store bought kefir or otherwise yoghurt. Probiotics are extremely important for us. Most of our immune system is located in our gut that depends on a healthy envornment of certain bacterias. Those play a certain role in for example synthesizing Vitamin B or K. Would be a bit long to explain in detail our gut and why probiotics are so important.
If you have a gluten intolerance like my, chances are pretty high your immune system is not working that perfect. A lot of times people have suffered a lot with infections, had to take antibiotics which in the long run made things worse and killed besides the infection also the good bacteria in your gut. For that reason your immune system gets even weaker over time. Therefore I highly recommend to increase your probiotic intake.
